India clash with arch rivals Pakistan in semi final of ICC Cricket World Cup at Mohali

All roads lead to Mohali today as India and Pakistan clash in the semi finals of the ICC Cricket World Cup. This is the first time in this tournament that Pakistan is playing a match in India. The 'Mother of all battles' will be fought at Mohali today, with neither of the teams being tagged as favourites to win this historic, emotion-packed, India-Pakistan clash. Both the South-Asian Giants have met four times in the World Cup and India were winners every time. But overall Pakistan are far ahead with 69 victories as compared to India's 46. On a pitch that favours Seam bowling and with lethal bowlers like Umar Gul and Abdul Razzaq on the other side, India may include S. Sreesanth or Ashish Nehra for today's all-important encounter. But the question is who will be dropped? If India flaunts its deep batting order marshalled by Sachin Tendulkar, Pakistan proudly owns a deadly bowling department led by Shahid Afridi, which can dismantle any side in any kind of form. So India will have to bat to their potential and bowl with a reason, if they wish a shot at the coveted World Cup trophy after 8 years. All India Radio will broadcast live commentary on the Day-Night fixture. The commentary can be heard on Medium Wave and FM Gold Channel from 2 PM.The winner of today's match will face Sri Lanka in the last and final match of the tournament on Saturday. On Tuesday, Sri Lanka held their nerve as they edged past ever-gutsy New Zealand to qualify for the World Cup final. Chasing a modest 218 for a win, the home team overhauled the target in 47.5 overs. Earlier, the co-hosts bundled out the Kiwis, who chose to bat first, for just 217. Sri Lankan Skipper Kumara Sangakkara was adjudged man of the match.
