The first India-China Strategic Economic Dialogue will be held in Beijing from Monday. The focus of the two day Dialogue will be on Plan formulation and implementation in India and China, the global economic outlook, efficient use of water resources, energy efficiency and pricing and potential cooperation in the railways sector. The Indian delegation will be led by Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission, Montek Singh Ahluwalia and the Chinese side by the Chairman of National Development and Reform Commission, Zhang Ping.
The Indian delegation will include representatives of the Planning Commission, Ministries of Railways, Water Resources, External Affairs, Power and New and Renewable Energy and the Departments of Commerce, Information Technology and Industrial Policy and Promotion for the two-day dialogue.
AIR correspondent reports, the Strategic Economic Dialogue was established during Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's visit to India in December 2010.
