India and China have signed three MoUs including setting up Industrial Park in Gujarat. The three MoUs were signed in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The first MoU relates to the setting up of an industrial park in Gujarat. The second MoU is between between Guangzhao city and Gujarat for developing a model state. The third MoU signed between Guangzhou city of China and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation relates to sister-city relations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the Chinese President Xi Jinping and First Lady of China at the Hyatt Hotel in Ahmedabad. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping held formal talks at the hotel.
Earlier, Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel, Governor O P Kohli, and senior cabinet ministers of the state welcomed the Chinese President at the Ahmedabad Airport. The Chinese President was accorded a traditional and warm welcome, along with the Guard of Honour.
Our Ahmedabad correspondent reports that Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi also visited Sabarmati Ashram. A cultural programme including Panchal region’s famous Hudo dance, Saurashtra’s Mer dance, Rathwa dance of tribals, the traditional Garba dance with earthen pots on head and Dangi dance was performed at the Sabarmati River Front.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also host a private dinner for Chinese President Xi Jinping and First Lady of China at the newly-developed Sabarmati River Front in Ahmedabad. Our correspondent adds that Chinese President and his delegation members will later leave Ahmedabad for Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also leave for Delhi late this evening.
