India, China set up military hotlines

India and China have set up hotlines between their military commanders at three Border Personnel Meeting, BPM locations along the border.<br/><br/>Sources said the hotlines have recently been activated at Spangur, Nathu La and Kibithu.<br/><br/>The two sides had been discussing the move to address tensions arising out of border patrolling.<br/><br/>'In principle' approval had been given for establishment of a hotline between military headquarters of the two sides.<br/><br/>India has such arrangements with other neighbouring countries, including Pakistan, Myanmar and Nepal, as part of the Confidence Building Measures.<br/>
