India and China today resolved the stand-off at the Ladakh border. The withdrawal of troops will begin today and it will be completed by the month end.
The breakthrough came in a bilateral meeting of External Affairs Minister Sushma Sawaraj and her Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in New York.
Describing the decision on the time line for the withdrawal of troops as a big accomplishment, Ms. Sawaraj said, the troops of both the countries will return to their positions by the end of this month.
She said, the border stand-off issue did cast some shadow on Chinese President Xi Jingping's visit to New Delhi even though it was very historical and gave very good outcomes. She said, the bad phase will end by September 30th.
