India says, New Delhi and Beijing need to address each other's concerns and sensitivities on issues impinging their security and well being. The External Affairs Minister Mr. S M Krishna, while speaking at a seminar in New Delhi on the relations between the two countries said today, the Hotline between Indian and Chinese Prime Ministers will be soon operational. He added that Beijing will provide level-playing field to Indian companies especially in pharmacy and IT sector where India face barriers restricting market access. Mr. Krishna said, India will offer a warm welcome to Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao when he visits India in December. Speaking at the seminar Chinese Communist Party Politburo member Zhou Yongkang said that India's development is not a threat but an opportunity for China and the two sides should work together to further cement their strategic and cooperative partnership. Pointing out that the two countries are more interdependent on each other for global stability, Yangkong said, in light of such a situation, it is all the more necessary for China and India to handle our relationship from a strategic height and long-term perspective. Observing that Chinese government policies advocated peaceful relations with India, Yongkang said the two countries should promote mutual political trust, economic and trade ties, expand friendly ties and strengthen international cooperation for further development of Sino-Indian relations. The seminar was organised jointly by Congress and Communist Party of China to mark 60 years of diplomatic relationship between the two countries.
