India and China have agreed to strengthen people to people contact through enhanced cultural exchange and exchange in the field of films. Talking to newsmen after meeting Chinese Minister of State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, Mr. Cai Fuchao in New Delhi today, the Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari said that he had a wide range of discussions with him. He said, the exchange of students of Film Institutes of China and India also figured prominently in their discussion.
He also invited China to be Principle Guest country at International Film Festival of India, IFFI, in Goa next year. He also requested Mr. Fuchao to send classical Chinese films to IFFI. Mr. Fuchao who is heading a 10-member delegation to India, also expressed satisfaction over the discussions with Mr.Tewari.
Mr.Tewari said that both India and China agreed to constitute a Joint Working Committee to have easy market access for Film Industries in the two countries.
