India: Central & South Asia should widen business relations

India has called for widening the trade and investment flows between Central and South Asia.

Addressing the annual Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, SCO meeting, Minister of Power, Sushil Kumar Shinde said that New Delhi is for increasing the connectivity in the region through regional solutions.

Welcoming the induction of Afghanistan as a regular participant in the SCO forum, Mr. Shinde said, the war torn country will be a vital bridge in connecting South Asia with the Middle East.

In a statement issued in New Delhi today, the Power Minister said that India will be happy to play a larger and more constructive role in the SCO as a full member when the organisation finalises expansion modalities.
