Public Service Broadcasting Day was celebrated today. It was on this day in 1947, the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi had for the first and last time visited Delhi's All India Radio studio to address the people who were temporarily settled in a camp in Kurukshetra after the partition of India. <br/><br/>The day was marked by a function at the premises of broadcasting house in New Delhi. On the occasion, Mahatma Gandhi's favourite bhajans were recited besides playing of the recorded audio clip of Mahatma Gandhi's speech. <br/><br/>Prominent among those present at today's event at AIR premises, were Director General of AIR F. Sheheryar and Director General(News) Mohan Chandak.
