The Foreign Secretaries of India and Pakistan have described their talks as useful and productive with both sides adopting an open and constructive attitude. The Foreign Secretary Mrs Nirupama Rao told the media in Thimphu that the two sides were able to discuss a number of relevant issues as last night's talks were not dominated by one issue. She said that the two sides talked about the process and to chart the way forward. Without elaborating, Mrs Rao said that there is a need to wait for this process to mature and one should be cautiously optimistic. Mrs Rao said that there is a need to be realistic and be aware of the realities, besides having a vision for the future she said, there are many issues that need to be resolved between the two countries as the nature of the relationship has been very complex.
