India has said its security forces are capable of handling Chinese incursions in Ladakh.
Responding to a media query on reported incursion in the area, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin today said the border with China is in safe hands of Indian troops guarding it.
In reply to another question, he said no request has been received from security personnel to take up the issue diplomatically. He said there are unresolved issues like boundary which will be discussed during the upcoming visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The Chinese President will visit India from Wednesday. He will be accompanied by a high level delegation. The MEA spokesperson said all substantive issues of bilateral interest will be on the agenda of talks between the two sides.
This will be the third visit by any Chinese President to India. As a special gesture, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will himself receive the visiting dignitary at Ahmedabad.
