India cannot sympathise with terror elements: Venkaiah Naidu

Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting M Venkaiah Naidu has said that India cannot sympathise with terror elements like Burhan Wani, the Hizbul Mujahideen Commander, killed by armed forces in Kashmir. He was speaking after a felicitation meet organized in Bengaluru on Sunday on his getting elected to Rajya Sabha for the fourth time.<br/><br/>The minister said that India will not tolerate any terrorist activities on its soil. He said Kashmir is an integral part of the country and there is no negotiation or compromise possible on this issue. He however added that Government will adopt democratic methods to resolve Kashmir issue. <br/><br/>Speaking about his taking over as Information and Broadcasting ministry, he called upon media to be constructive and give prominence to development news. The minister said that he will hold interactive meet with media owners, Editors on the need to focus on development. <br/><br/>He emphasized that agenda of the Government is development and people too want development and good governance. He regretted that in India obstruction is a news, destruction is a news and construction will not make news; sensationalism is news, things that have no sense are sensationalized and it becomes news.
