India and Canada will soon sign a bilateral social security agreement or SSA. Under the agreement, workers from the two countries in either country need not contribute to social security schemes of the host nation on short term work visits.Secretary in the Ministry for Overseas Indian Affairs, A Didar Singh disclosed this while addressing the Indian community in Toronto. He said the agreement, which once signed, will benefit thousands of Indians who are working in Canada and paying social security but are unable to get any benefit out of it.
