Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has said, India can become the biggest economy in the world by 2050. He predicted India can overcome USA by 2030 to become the second biggest economy after China. The Finance Minister also said predictions of India emerging as the biggest economy in the world surpassing China will not remain a pipe-dream only and it can be achievable if all work together. Delivering the 10th foundation day lecture of National Aluminium Company (Nalco) at Bhubaneswar today, Mr. Mukherjee said we have to create at least 50 million skilled manpower and get more purchasing power in the next 10 years in order to make India the biggest economy in the world. He said the young work forces of India need to be properly utilised in the years to come to achieve the goal. Mr. Mukherjee said India's financial outlays during 2012-17 five year plan will be over one trillion US dollars on infrastructure projects. He said India's growth rate will be at 9 per cent during 2010-11 and fiscal deficit at 5.5 per cent. The fiscal deficit will come down to 4.8 per cent during 2011-12, said Mr. Mukherjee.
