Union Home Minister Amit Shah has called upon the countries to rise above their geo-political interests to effectively deal with the menace of terrorism and its financing mechanism. He stressed on imposing strict economic sanctions against those countries that support terrorism as part of their state policy.<br />'' <br />'' While speaking at the closing session of third 'No Money For Terror' conference in New Delhi on Saturday, Mr. Shah said, some countries continuously support terrorists and terrorism. He said, terrorism has no international boundaries and all countries should think beyond politics and cooperate. He urged all the countries to enhance cooperation in a transparent manner to effectively deal with the challenges posed by the terrorism. He stressed that countries should agree on one common definition of terrorism and terror financing.<br />'' <br />'' On the threats of terrorism, Mr. Shah said, terrorism is the biggest enemy of democracy, human rights, economic progress and world peace. He said, terrorism has taken such a formidable form that its effects are visible at every level. He stressed on the need in fighting the war against terrorism and terrorist groups in every geographical and virtual space. He said, India's policy of zero tolerance against terrorism, a strong framework of counter-terror laws and empowerment of agencies have helped in reduction of terrorist incidences in the country. He reaffirmed the Prime Minister's resolve that India will be the focal point of international cooperation for Counter-Terrorism and Combating Financing of Terrorism. He said, some organizations promote terrorism and radicalization at the national and international levels and these organizations tend to become the medium of financing terrorism. He urged the countries to identify and take stringent action against such organisations. He said, cyberspace has become a major battleground in the fight against terrorism. He said, there have also been multiple changes in weapons technology and these 21st-century lethal technologies and drone technologies are also accessible to terrorists now. He said, the growing links of terrorism with organized crimes such as narcotics, crypto-currency and hawala have increased the possibility of terror financing manifold. He said, time is ripe for establishing a Permanent Secretariat to counter the financing of terrorism.<br />'' <br />''Over 70 countries and 450 delegates participated in the two-day conference including Ministers, Heads of Multilateral organisations and Financial Action Task Force &nbsp;Heads of Delegations.
