India, Brunei have equal stakes in Asian neighbourhood: VP Ansari

Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari today said India and Brunei have equal stakes in Asian neighbourhood. Delivering a speech at University of Brunei in Bandar Seri Begawan Mr. Ansari said that both the countries have an interest in maintaining the safety of the sea-lanes in the region. The Vice President also said that India wants to expand cooperation with Brunei in combating terrorism, particularly preventing its financing through sharing of information.<br/><br/>Three MoUs were signed with Brunei to cooperate on defence, health and youth affairs & sports. Mr. Ansari also addressed the expatriates and lauded their contribution to the economic, health and educational fields in the host country. Sources in the External Affairs Ministry said, e-Visa facility to the people of Brunei is to be rolled out very soon. The Vice President today left for Thailand for the second leg of his two-nation visit after concluding his three-day trip to Brunei.
