India, Brazil ink environment pact; To expand trade and investment flow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi signed a bilateral agreement on co-operation in the field of environment with the Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff yesterday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the margins of BRICS, had a meeting with the Brazilian President. The two leaders agreed to further expand and diversify trade and investment flows and deepen co-operation in agriculture and dairy science. They also agreed to extend all co-operation to each other in the field of conventional and renewable energy, space and application, defence, cyber security and environment conservation.Earlier he was accorded an official welcome by the Brazilian president when he reached to meet her in her official residence, the Itamaraty Palace. Though it was not a bilateral visit, Prime Minister Modi was received in full military honours before their meeting over breakfast.Mr Modi congratulated Ms Rousseff for organising a successful BRICS summit.
