India and Botswana have agreed to set up institutional mechanism to further their traditional ties. On the last day of his weeklong tour to three African nations, Vice President Mohammed Hamid Ansari on Monday called on the President of Botswana, Lt General Sereste Khama Ian Khama. <br/><br/>Briefing reporters after the meet, secretary (west), ministry of external affairs , Mr Vivek Katju said the vice president has described his visit as constructive, positive and purposeful. Mr Katju said, the meeting with Mr Khama was unscheduled and the vice president was touched for this gesture. <br/><br/>He informed some opportunities have been identified between the two countries. Mr Khama expressed sympathies to the victims of the Mumbai terror attacks. Mr Katju said the Botswana President thanked the Indian government for its training to the country’s army and air forces. He said both the leaders have stressed the need for greater participation in all areas of public life. Earlier, after visiting the Chobe National Park in Kasane, the vice president said Indian film producers should explore these beautiful places in Africa. He also visited diamond trading company in Gaborone.
