India shot into Number one position in test Cricket after 36 years, winning the third and final Test against Sri Lanka at Brabourne stadium in Mumbai by an innings and 24 runs. Resuming at their overnight score of 274 for six, Sri Lanka were all out for 309 runs. Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakara, who had made 133 yesterday, lost his wicket at his individual score of 137 after putting some resistance. India's Zahir Khan claimed 5 wickets.
