India defeated Sri Lanka by eight wickets in the third and final cricket One-Day International at Visakhapatnam today. By clinching the series 2-1, the hosts also recorded their eighth successive win in a bilateral contest. India overhauled the victory target of 216 runs by making 219 for 2 in 32.1 overs. Opener Shikhar Dhawan struck an unbeaten 100 which was his 12th ODI century. Shreyas Iyer contributed a fine 65 off 63 balls while Dinesh Karthik remained not out on 26. Earlier, put in to bat, Sri Lanka collapsed for 215 from a promising 160 for 2.
