India registered a 2-1 victory over Philippines in final of the Asia-Oceania Group-II, Fed Cup tennis tournament at Hyderabad yesterday. With this victory, India now moves to Asia-Oceania Group-I in 2016.India's Prarthana Thombare first defeated Anna Clarice Patrimonio 6-3, 6-1 in the first singles match. However, Ankita Raina lost to Katharina Lehnert 2-6, 7-5, 7-5 in the second singles match. Sania Mirza, who joined the campaign in the doubles match with Thombare, showed glimpse of her brilliance by securing a 6-3, 6-3 win for India.
