India beat New Zealand by 6 runs in 3rd ODI, clinch series 2-1

India beat New Zealand by 6 runs in the final ODI to win the three-match series 2-1. Chasing a victory target of 338 runs set by India in the third ODI game in Kanpur today, New Zealand made 331 for seven in 50 stipulated overs. Earlier, put in to bat, India stitched a challenging 337 for 6. With his 32nd century, skipper Virat Kohli became the sixth Indian to complete 9,000 ODI runs today, making him the fastest to get there. He scored 113 runs. Opener Rohit Sharma laid a solid foundation for India with his superb 147 runs. For New Zealand, Southee, Milne and Santers claimed two wickets each. India and New Zealand will also play three Twenty20 matches, the first of which will be held at Feroz Shah Kotla grounds in Delhi on Wednesday.
