India beat world number two the Netherlands 3-2 on penalties in a thrilling finish in the FIH Hockey World League Final third place play off at Raipur, Chattisgarh today. India is now assured of a bronze in the tournament. Earlier, both India and the Netherlands scored 5 goals each. Then resort was taken to shoot-out to decide the winners. The Dutch lead in the shoot out 1-0. Then Bindra Lakra made it 1-1 for India. Dutch followed with another penalty goal to make it 2-1 which was equalised by Sardar Singh. Then Rupinder Pal Singh scored the third goal for India to hand India a 3-2 win on penalties.The summit clash of the tournament is now in progress between Belgium and Australia.
