India today became the Asia Cup Hockey champion after defeating Malaysia 2-1 in Dhaka. India started strongly and scored first goal through Ramandeep Singh in the first quarter and the second goal was scored by Lalit in the second quarter. The victory came to India under massive pressure from Malaysia. India had reached the final after defeating Pakistan 4-nil in the semi-finals in Dhaka yesterday.
