India beat Australia by five wickets in the second ODI of the three-match cricket series at Visakhapatnam last night. Chasing the victory target of 290 runs, India scored 292 for 5 in 48.5 overs. Virat Kohli hit 118 while Suresh Raina made 71 not out. For visitors Clint McKay took 3 wickets for 54 and John Hastings had 2 for 46. Earlier, Australia made 289 for 3 in stipulated 50 overs. First match of the series was washed out without a single ball being bowled in Kochi.
