India beat Bangladesh by 45 runs in the first match of the 14th Asia Cup T-20 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur last night. Sent into bat, India scored 166 for six in the stipulated 20 overs and then restricted Bangladesh to 121 for seven.Opener Rohit Sharma's sublime 55-ball 83 and all-rounder Hardik Pandya's impressive 31 off 18 ball propelled India to 166 despite a top-order collapse. For Bangladesh, Al-Amin was pick of the bowlers with figures of 3 for 37 while Sabbir Rahman was the highest scorer with 44 runs. For India, medium pacer Ashish Nehra claimed 3 wickets.
