India and Bangladesh have decided to sign three agreements during the visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to New Delhi on 19th December this year. Talking to reporters in Dhaka on the developments following the visit of Foreign secretary Nirupama Rao, the Bangladesh foreign Secretary Mohamed Mijarul Quayes said these agreements include an agreement for mutual legal assistance on criminal matters, agreement of transfer of sentenced persons, and an agreement on combating international terrorism, organised crimes and illegal drug trafficking. Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao held discussions with the officials of the foreign ministry and also called on the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Leader of the Opposition Khaleda Zia and foreign Minister Dipu Moni. Ms. Nirupama Rao said that New Delhi attached "highest importance" to its ties with Dhaka and her visit is in the context of preparations for a very significant visit of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to India .
