India, B’desh to sign MOU to enhance cooperation in health sector

India and Bangladesh will soon sign a Memorandum of understanding for enhancing co-operation in the health sector. This was decided during a meeting of Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad with the Bangladesh Health and Family Welfare Minister Prof. Dr A.F.M Ruhal Haque in Dhaka today. Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad told AIR that the MOU will focus on bilateral co-operation to tackle communicable diseases in addition to co-operation in the health sector at the primary and tertiary levels. The Bangladesh Health Minister said that the new MOU will also focus on training of doctors in specialty and super specialty courses with India’s help. Mr. Azad who is on a four day tour to Dhaka will also be participating in the Executive Committee meeting of the board of the Partners in Population development scheduled to take place on Monday.
