India-B’desh Task Force on Human Trafficking to meet on Saturday

The third meeting of the India-Bangladesh Task Force on Human Trafficking is scheduled to be held at Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh on Saturday.

The Indian delegation for the Task Force Meeting will be led by Mr. K. Skandan, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs and the Bangladesh delegation will be led by Dr. Kamal Uddin Ahmed, Additional Secretary of the Bangladesh Home Ministry. During the two day meet both sides will discuss comprehensive measures to be undertaken by both countries towards prevention, rescue, repatriation and rehabilitation of victims of human trafficking. Both delegations will also discuss and finalize the draft text of the Standard Operating Procedure in cases related to Human Trafficking to be signed between India and Bangladesh.

Earlier during the Home Secretary level talks held in Dhaka in the month of October both sides had agreed to take steps to finalize standard operating procedures for repatriation of released prisoners and victims of human trafficking.
