India-B'desh solo cricket test ends in draw

India's lone test match at Fatullah against Bangladesh ended in a draw as rain limelighted the proceedings of the match on all five days. Despite loss of over 200 overs in the game, India had a superb outing with bat and then showed prowess with the ball. India, batting first superbly posted 462 for 6 before declaring their innings. Opening pair, Shikhar Dhawan and Murli Vijay both struck centuries and Ajinkya Rahane made 98 for a consolidated big score before declaring India's first inning. In reply Bangladesh, fell short by 206 runs in the first innings, Captain Virat Kohli imposed follow on. It was a classy show of spin bowling from Ravichandran Ashwin as he took 5 wickets and Harbhajan Singh supported him with 3 wickets to clean up Bangladesh at 256. However, rain was constant spoilsport even on fifth day, and the captains decided to shake hands after 15 overs into the last session. At the time, hosts were following on 23 for no loss. Shikhar Dhawan was adjudged Man of the Match for his knock of 173 in 195 balls. Meanwhile, with this test match being drawn, India has slipped to fourth position in the latest ICC Test Rankings.
