The Coast Guards of India and Bangladesh will hold joint training exercises next week during the visit of Indian Coast Guard Ships Vajra and Raziya Sultana to Chittagong. The two coast guard vessels will be reaching Chittagong port on Sunday as part of a five day goodwill visit. Vajra is an Offshore Patrol Vessel while Raziya Sultana is a Fast Patrol Vessel. Both the ships are capable of performing anti-smuggling operations and search and rescue missions at sea. Besiders, the two ships can also be used to control marine pollution and protection of maritime environment. The visit of the two coastguard ships will also provide an opportunity for the Indian Coast Guard personnel to interact with Bangladesh Coast Guard personnel.
