India – B'desh border guarding meeting ends today; agrees to maintain peaceful tranquil atmosphere along the International Border

<span style="color: #222222;">The bi-annual meeting of the two border guarding forces: India's Border Security Force and Bangladesh's Border Guard Bangladesh ended today. The meeting has resolved to maintain peace and tranquillity along the Indo-Bangla border. The three-day conference, scheduled for November 27- 29, was hosted by Frontier Headquarters of the BSF at Umpling, Shillong.<br />'' <br />'' The conference is held bi-annually between the two border guarding forces to discuss issues related to smuggling of cattle, drugs, Fake Indian Currency Note, contraband items and to resolve the matters having security bearing along the international border to maintain peace. The conference culminated today with the signing of the Joint Record of Discussion (JRD) by the leaders of both delegations.<br />'' <br />'' Both the Border Guarding Forces agreed to look into each other's perspective on border problems with an open mind and to increase sharing of actionable intelligence to curb trans-border crimes and to have a peaceful tranquil atmosphere along the International Border. The next coordination conference will be held in Bangladesh.<br />'' <br />''<br />''The Indian delegation was led by Susanta Kumar Nath, IPS, IG BSF Tripura Frontier, accompanied by IG Meghalaya, M&C whereas the Bangladesh delegation was led by Tanveer Gani Chowdhury Additional Director General, Region Commander, South East Region Chattogram of Border Guard Bangladesh.</span>
