India and Bangladesh have signed agreements for setting up of Border markets, up-gradation of check posts and land custom stations along their borders. A Memorandum of Understanding for this was signed between the Union Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma and his Bangladesh counterpart, Mohammed Faruk Khan in New Delhi today.Addressing a press conference jointly with the visiting dignitary Sharma said under the textile quota agreement, India will import 1.7 million pieces of ready-made garments from Bangladesh. He said New Delhi has also agreed to export three million tonnes of rice and 2 lakh tonnes of wheat to Dhaka. AIR correspondent reports, both the countries are working to enhance the bilateral trade from the existing three billion dollars to five billion dollars in the next five years.’Expressing happiness over the talks, the visiting dignitary, Faruk Khan called India a brother and a good friend.
