India Bangladesh discuss early completion of border fencing work

<span style="color: black;">India and Bangladesh discussed the early completion of the pending fencing along the Indo-Bangladesh borders as agreed by the Prime Ministers of the two countries. The discussion took place during the 19th Home Secretary level talks held virtually between the two countries on Saturday.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: black;">Both countries reaffirmed not to allow the territory of either country to be used for any activity inimical to each other's interests, said the press release issued after the meeting. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: black;">Both sides appreciated the cooperation between the two countries and the action taken to address the menace of terrorism and extremism in an effective manner. The effective functioning of the Coordinated Border Management Plan (CBMP) to control the illegal cross border activities was appreciated by both sides.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: black;">Bangladesh appreciated the assistance provided by India for the training and capacity building for various security agencies. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: black;">Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation to prevent the smuggling of fake Indian currency notes and contraband. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: black;">The press release noted that both the countries attach highest importance to their bilateral relations and they agreed to further expand and strengthen mutual cooperation in the security and border related issues. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: black;">Held in the backdrop of the centenary celebration of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib, 50 years of liberation of Bangladesh and establishment of diplomatic ties, the Home Secretary level meeting reviewed the entire gamut of security and border related cooperation. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: black;">The Indian delegation was led by the Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla while the Senior Secretary, Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home affairs, government of Bangladesh Mostafa Kamal Uddin led the Bangladesh delegation at the meeting. </span><br />''
