India-Bangladesh cycle rally participants pay tribute to Language Martyrs in Dhaka

<span style="background-color: transparent; color: #000000;">The 15-member team of the international Cycle expedition 'India-Bangladesh peace and Friendship  bicycle rally' paid tribute to the Language Martyrs at the Central Shaheed Minar  in Dhaka on Tuesday on the occasion of the International Mother Language Day. <br />''The group of cyclists had started from Kolkata on February 14. <br />''<br />''After arriving in Dhaka on 19 February, they visited the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Memorial to pay respect to the Father of the nation Sheikh Mujib. Later, they visited some of the prominent cultural groups in Dhaka and performed songs of love and language solidarity on Monday.<br />''<br />''Organised on the occasion of the 75th year of India's independence being celebrated as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the cycle rally is dedicated to the freedom fighters of both India and Bangladesh. The cycle rally was organised to pay homage to the people who sacrificed their lives for the Bangla language fighting against the Pakistani army. <br />''<br />''The cyclists pedalled more than 350 kilometres crossing into Bangladesh at the Petrapole-Benapole border. They travelled through places like Narail, Bhanga and Mawa before arriving in Dhaka. <br />''<br />''This was the ninth edition of the cycle expedition. It had participants from all age groups including an 11 year old boy to senior citizens, students to daily wagers and doctors. The event was organised by Bhasa Sutra and Hundred Miles and organisations from West Bengal.</span><br />
