India and Bahrain today decided to expand their cooperation in key areas, including trade and business with Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and visiting King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa holding wide-ranging talks in New Delhi. Besides bilateral matters, Dr Singh and King Khalifa deliberated on regional and global developments and issues of mutual concern. They reviewed the bilateral trade and agreed to boost economic cooperation in diverse sectors.Both sides also inked three MoUs to strengthen ties in the fields of economic engagement, sports and cooperation between Foreign Service Institute and the Diplomatic Institute of Bahrain. The MoU on the Establishment of a Joint High Commission for Bilateral Cooperation will replace the existing Joint Committee for Technical and Economic Cooperation established in 1981.AIR correspondent reports, King Khalifa, who is on a three-day visit, met President Pranab Mukherjee and Vice President Hamid Ansari this evening. He was given a ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan this morning. He also visited Mahatma Gandhi's Samadhi at Rajghat and paid floral tributes.
