India won two golds, one silver and one bronze today on the 7th day of the Commonwealth games so far. The first gold was won by Women Archer Deepika Kumari in the recurve individual category. Deepika defeated England's Elison Williamson in the final. The bronze in the same event was also won by India's Dola Banerjee. Dola Banerjee defeated Malaysia's Anbarasi Subramaniam. The second gold for India was won by Harpreet Singh in the Mens 25 metres Centre fire pistol shooting. Vijay Kumar who finished behind Harpreet won the silver in the same event. In 66 Kg, free style wrestling India's Sushil Kumar has entered the finals beating Famara Jarjou of Gambia. Sushil finshed his bout in nine seconds. This is the quickest time taken by a wrestler to beat his opponent in this Commonwealth Games. Joginder Kumar in the Super heavy weight category has advanced to the finals. Joginder takes on Ajrun Bhuller of Canada in the final match. India's Anuj Kumar in the 84 Kilogram also entered the finals beating Dick Endreo of Nigeria. Anuj will take on the challenge from Pakistan's Mohammed Inam in the final.India is in second position on the Games Medal Tally with 26 Golds, 18 Silver and 18 bronze. Australia in first position retains its massive lead with 56 golds 31 silver while England is third with 24 golds 45 silver and 29 bronze. In Weightlifting Women's 75 kg category final match slated this afternoon, India's medal hopes rests on Geetarani, who is in contention. In Boxing, India's Jai Bhagwan takes on Waheed Sogbamu of Nigeria in the Men's 60 kg light weight category quarter final. Dil Bagh Singh in 69 kg welter weight category, Vijender Singh in 75 kg middle weight, Manoj Kumar in 64 kg light welter weight, Manpreet Singh in 91 kg heavy weight and Paramjeet Samota in 91 kg super heavy weight are contesting in their quarter-final bouts. Anil Kumar in 55 Kilogram category lost in the Quarter final match to Azhar Hussain of Pakistan. In cycling, which six indians are in contention in the men's 168 kilometre race. In Women's 112 Cycling race Australia won the Gold and Silver while New Zealand took bronze.In Tennis, India's Somdev Devvarman takes on the challenge from Matt Ebden of Australia in the gold decider high profile match. Top-2India aims at civil nuclear pact with JapanThe Second round of talks between India and Japan for civilian atomic cooperation pact concluded in New Delhi yesterday. The pact, when signed will pave the way for sale of advanced technology by Japanese multinational companies Hitachi and Mitsubishi. The two-day talks, led by Joint Secretary (East Asia) Gautam Bambawale of India and Special Representative Mitsuru Kitano of Japan, focused on the contents of the agreement which is aimed at forging cooperation between the two countries in peaceful use of nuclear energy.The latest round of talks comes over three months after the launch of parleys for civil nuclear cooperation and barely days before Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh's visit to Tokyo later this month. The negotiations for the pact were launched on June 28 when officials of both the countries had met for the first round in Tokyo. The agreement will enable Japanese companies like Mitsubishi, Hitachi and Toshiba, all having the advance civil nuclear energy technologies, to set up projects in India which, according to some estimates, has a market of nearly 150 billion US Dollars. Our correspondent reports that major atomic power companies of the United States and France, both of which already have a bilateral nuclear cooperation treaty with India, have urged Tokyo to sign the nuclear pact with New Delhi so that they can use Japanese technology for building reactors in the country. The other countries with which India has already signed the civil nuclear deal included the US, France, Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Argentina and Namibia.
