The team representing India at 2011 Special Olympics World Summer Games have proven themselves again by bringing back 243 medals for the country. The medals include 78 Gold, 73 Silver and 92 Bronze. The team returned from Athens today. The Rollers Skating team bagged 31 Gold, 12 Silver and 15 bronze.Medal tally in other disciplines is Athletics – 6 Gold, 10 Silver, 14 bronze, Badminton – 2 Gold, 4 Silver, one bronze, Basketball Boys – 10 Silver, Girls – 10 Bronze. Bocce – 4 Gold, 4 silver and one bronze. Other prominent medal winning events were: Cycling – 7 Gold, 6 Silver, 11 bronze, Handball – Boys won 12 Gold, Girls – 12 Silver, Powerlifting 3 Gold, 5 Silver, 6 bronze. Table Tennis – 4 Gold, 3 silver and 2 Bronze and Volleyball – Bronze for Boys and Girls.Chairman Air Marshal Keelor said in New Delhi that Indian athletes are getting recognition and support at Indian and World stage which showcases the change of environment for the disabled.
