The ongoing fourth day of competitions in the Delhi Commonwealth Games has so far proved quite successful for India. The hosts have added three gold, three silver and four bronze medals to their overnight tally of 11 gold , 8 silver and 5 bronze. The medal tally for India now stands at 14 gold, 11 silver and 9 bronze. The first gold of the day was won by shooter Vijay Kumar and Gurpreet Singh in Men's 25 meters rapid fire pistol event. They also set a new Commonwealth games record in the process. Later , Gurpreet Singh and Omkar Singh won today's second gold in 10 meter air pistol shooting event. Adding to the medals tally, was Ronjan Sodhi's silver in the men's double trap singles.In women's Wrestling S. Geetha won the coveted yellow metal in 55 kg category brining India's total tally of gold for the day to three.In the Wrestling itself, Nirmala Devi won a silver in 48 Kilogram category . Suman Kundu won the bronze in 63 kg event. In Archery, India won the silver in the men's compound team competition at the Yamuna Sports Complex. The gold went to England who beat the young Indian team in a hard fought match 231-229. The Indian team comprising B. Chanu, Jhano Hansdah and Gagandeep Kaur also won a bronze in the Women's compound archery. In weightlifting, India's Sudhir Kumar won the bronze in men's 77 kilogram category. With this, India have completed a tally of one hundred medals in Common Wealth Weightlifting events. There was good news in table tennis also as Indian women's team cruised into the finals . The hosts will meet Singapore . In boxing, Amandeep Singh and Akil kumar moved into the next round .In men's hockey , India takes on formidable Australia in group A match . In Tennis, India's Somdev Devvarman breezed into the Men's Singles Semi-finals today.
