India is aware of deportation of students from San Francisco in the United States. Replying to a query, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup told reporters in New Delhi that the students were taken back by Air India due to denial of entry by US immigration authorities. <br/><br/>He said, Air India acted as per the directions of the US authorities. Mr Swarup said, India has strongly taken up the matter with government in the US. New Delhi is also closely monitoring the issue to resolve it at the earliest.
