India at 311/4 on day-1 in Brisbane test against Australia

At Brisbane today, India took the opening day's honours in the second Cricket Test against Australia with a comfortable 311 for four in their first innings. The highlight of the day was opener Murali Vijay's fluent 144 which was his 5th Test century. At stumps, Ajinkya Rahane on 75 and Rohit Sharma on 26 were at the crease. Apart from Vijay, the other batsmen out were: Shikar Dhawan for 24, Cheteshwar Pujara -18 and Virat Kohli for 19. The day ended seven overs short of the stipulated 90, due to Australia's slow over rate. Earlier, India won the toss and opted to bat.
