India has assured Sri Lanka to continue its support and remain strong development partner in the days to come. India said, it is prepared to cooperate with Sri Lanka in its growth and prosperity. <br/><br/>Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sri Lankan Preresident Maithirpala Sirisena discussed a host of issues over dinner hosted in honour of Mr. Modi on Thursday. The Prime Minister is in Colombo to attend International Vesak Day celebrations as chief guest. <br/><br/>Giving takeaways from the meeting, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs Sanjay Panda said, the two leaders touched upon several areas including focus on Buddhism, promotion of tourism, Buddhist circuit and connectivity between the two countries. <br/><br/>Mr. Panda said, space cooperation also figured during the discussions. President Sirisena also mentioned about Bay of Bengal cooperation, which was welcomed by Prime Minister Modi. <br/><br/>The Prime Minister will address the Vesak Day celebrations on Friday morning.<br/><br/><br/>Later, Mr Modi will address a gathering of Indian Tamils in Norwood of Nuwara Eliya district. He will also inaugurate a 150 bed multi speciality hospital in the same province, built with Indian grant. The Prime Minister will also visit the biggest Buddhist temple in Kandy before his departure for New Delhi.<br/>
