India has asserted that Pakistan must bring the perpetrators of the 2008 Mumbai terror attack to justice.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh yesterday told the visiting Pakistan President Mr. Asif Ali Zardari to prevent activities against India on Pakistani soil.
The Prime Minister also brought forward the issue of activities of terror outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba founder Hafiz Saeed who was the mastermind behind the Mumbai terror attack.
In a joint statement following one on one talks with the Pakistan President in New Delhi, Dr. Singh said that the normalisation of relations with Pakistan is the common desire of the two neighbours. Dr. Singh said that they discussed all bilateral issues that affect the relations of both the countries.
In his turn, President Zardari said that they discussed the common issues between the two countries and he is hopeful of a positive outcome.
Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said with Mr Zardari's visit, India's bilateral relations and trade with Pakistan will improve. He was talking to reporters on the sidelines of a programme in Bangalore.
