India has asked Myanmar to take strict action against the insurgent group operating along the India-Myanmar border. The Home Secretary Mr G K Pillai held talks with the visiting Deputy Home Minister of Myanmar U. Phone Swe in New Delhi and called for strengthening intelligence sharing mechanism between the two countries. Mr. Pillai expressed concern on the activities of Indian insurgent group along the border and signed the mutual instrument of ratification of legal assistance treaty. According to an official press release, the issues of arm smuggling, drug trafficking, border management and border trade also came up for discussions in the meeting.
