India-ASEAN look to boost ties at Delhi Dialogue

The fourth edition of Delhi Dialogue begins in New Delhi this evening. The theme this year is India and ASEAN: Partners for Peace, Progress and Stability. The event began in 2009 for greater engagement of India with the ASEAN region.

All the ten ASEAN countries have sent delegations or are participating in the form of speakers and panelists in the two day event. The event has been divided into four thematic sessions which will address economic cooperation, regional security, non-traditional security threats and networks of knowledge and science. This has been inspired by the recommendations made during the Delhi Dialogue III. Delhi Dialogue IV will be inaugurated by the External Affairs Minister S M Krishna. The former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam will be giving the Valedictory Address tomorrow.
