Indian Army has opened a new bank account – Army Welfare Fund Battle Casualties- for the welfare of bereaved families of battle casualties. <br/><br/>The contribution to the fund can be transfered in the bank account No- 90552010165915 of Syndicate Bank, South Block, New Delhi . <br/><br/>The amount can also be forwarded through cheque and demand draft in favour of Army Welfare Fund Battle Casualties payable at New Delhi. <br/><br/>In a statement, Defence Ministry said, of late, a large number of philanthropic organizations and individuals have been approaching to assist next of kins of battle causalities with monetary assistance. <br/><br/>A surge of such requests came after the recent avalanche in Siachen where ten soldiers lost their lives. This assistance would be in addition to the various existing schemes for the welfare of next of kins of battle casualties.
