President Ram Nath Kovind has said that India and Chile share common views on various global issues and India appreciates Chile's support and solidarity in the fight against terrorism. <br/><br/>He was speaking to a Parliamentary delegation from Chile, who called on him at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. Mr Kovind said, India and Chile are vibrant democracies and both countries have been having regular interactions between their parliamentarians. The delegation was led by President of Chile's Chamber of Deputies, Fidel Espinoza. <br/><br/>The President said, India appreciates Chile's support for New Delhi to be a permanent member of the UN Security Council. Mr Kovind expressed happiness that Chile has signed the agreement to join the International Solar Alliance. This will strengthen the collective effort towards addressing climate change.<br/><br/>Mr Kovind said that India is hopeful that the expanded India-Chile Preferential Trade Agreement will give a boost to the bilateral trade. He added that both countries can work together in areas, such as mining, renewable energy, science and technolog, space and defence.
