India have announced a grant of 10 million US dollars as budget support to the Palestinian National Authority. Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has also assured the President of Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas of New Delhi's support to their efforts for economic and social development. The assurance was given by Dr. Manmohan during his talks with Mr. Mahmoud Abbas, who arrived in New Delhi last evening on a two day working visit to India. Dr. Singh reiterated India’s support for the Arab Peace Plan. <br/><br/>He also called for concerted action for achieving a durable, just and comprehensive settlement to the West Asian conflict. Dr Manmohan Singh, also reiterated India’s commitment to the Palestinian cause in line with the United Nations Security Council Resolutions calling for a negotiated solution for a sovereign, independent, viable and united State of Palestine. <br/><br/>President Abbas who shared his views on recent developments in the Peace Process in West Asia expressed his sincere appreciation for India’s consistent political and material support to Palestine. The Minister of State for External Affairs Dr. Shashi Tharoor will call on President Abbas today.
