India and Sweden will be signing a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, today on cooperation in the area of environment. The MoU will be signed after the talks between the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh and his Swedish counterpart, Mr. Fredrik Reinfeldt in the evening. Mr. Feinfeldt who will be arriving in New Delhi today morning will attend the India-Europian Union, EU, Summit on Friday. Sweden is the current President of EU. The MoU on environment to be signed between India and Sweden, will cover cooperation on clean technology, alternate energy, sustainable development, climate change and other related aspects. The MoU also envisages the setting up of a joint working group on the issue. AIR Correspondent says that the trade between the two countries has grown up by over 450 per cent in the last 8 years. Recently, the two nations decided to cooperate in the field of skill development.<br/><br/> Swedish Minister of trade Dr. Ewa Bjorling has said that India and Sweden needs to make their relationship stronger, and explore new technologies for a better and peaceful future. She was speaking at a seminar on India Sweden Defence partnership in New Delhi today.
