India and South Korea express satisfaction over progress on their bilateral economic relationship

India and South Korea have expressed satisfaction over the progress made on their bilateral economic relationship that has been moving steadily. Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and the Korean President Lee Myung-bak met today in Hanoi on the sidelines of the 17th ASEAN Summit and reviewed their bilateral relationship. Briefing the media on the meeting, the National Security Advisor Shiv Shankar Menon said that besides the Comprehensive Economic Co-operation Agreement, both the countries have finalized agreement on cooperation in the area of civil nuclear energy, which now awaits signature. He said that both the countries have made considerable progress on co-operation in the field of civil aviation, space and several other areas. Mr. Menon said that both the leaders also discussed the up-coming G-20 summit and felt that there should be a systematic implementation of the decisions taken so that they are carried forward for several years. Dr. Singh and President Lee agreed to work together in the G-20. Replying to a question, Mr. Menon however clarified that the POSCO issue did not figure in their talks.
